Children up to age 3 with developmental delays are eligible for First Steps services, the Kentucky state program which provides early intervention.
What happens after First Steps ? After First Steps, your child may have made great strides in his or her development, but may require continued supports to bridge the gap to school-age programs. Square One would like to help you and your family during this transition by providing:
- Comprehensive evaluation, if necessary, to determine current level of cognitive functioning and potential in the home, academic, and social settings
- Speech-language therapy continuation
- Play therapy
- Social skills groups
- Parenting groups
Eligibility for Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) Services Program
Your child aged three or older may be eligible for continued services through Seven Counties Services, Inc. Through a partnership with Seven Counties, Square One offers Speech-Language therapy services for eligible patients enrolled in the Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) Special Services Program administered by the State of Kentucky. (These services were formerly covered under the Michelle P. Waiver.) To determine eligibility, contact the EPSDT program, Division of Medicaid Services. If your child is currently enrolled in the EPSDT program and you wish to have your child receive speech-language services at Square One, contact your child’s case manager who will make the appropriate arrangements with Seven Counties Services to initiate prior authorization to come to Square One.
