Kelly Slaughter, PhD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Slaughter provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for children with concern for ADHD, learning disorders, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. She also provides specialty treatment for children adjusting to a new chronic health condition, such as diabetes, chronic pain, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, endometriosis, gastroparesis, and more.
She earned her bachelors in Psychology at the University of Kentucky (Go Cats!), a masters in behavioral psychology at Eastern Michigan University, and a masters and PhD in child clinical psychology at the University of Louisville. She has published academic manuscripts and presented at national conferences on ADHD, emotion dysregulation, aggressive and oppositional behaviors, and chronic illness coping.
Prior to joining Square One, Dr. Slaughter served as postdoctoral fellow in pediatric psychology at Norton Children’s Hospital seeing children with chronic illness as well as mental health and behavioral concerns in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Slaughter has worked with children as young as 5 through adolescence and into young adulthood.
In her role at Square One, Dr. Slaughter aims to help children and families understand their challenges and take back control of their lives. With evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, and behavior therapy, Dr. Slaughter strives to provide children and families with tools, skills, support, and guidance needed to grow and begin enjoying life again.
