Neuropsychological

A neuropsychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of cognition (e.g., learning, memory, language, visuospatial skills, fine motor skills, attention, executive functions) and emotional and behavioral functioning to identify a child’s strengths and needs.

This evaluation is often beneficial for children with medical or neurological conditions that may impact brain development, such as:

• Head injury/concussion
• Prematurity/low birth weight
• Cancer treatment
• Epilepsy
• Hydrocephalus
• Stroke
• Chromosomal differences
• Sickle cell disease
• Spina bifida
• Brain tumor

Neuropsychological evaluations are also beneficial for children with learning, attention, or social problems that may include questions of:

• Learning disorders
• ADHD
• Autism spectrum disorder
• Nonverbal learning disability
• Intellectual disability

Neuropsychological Evaluation and Post-Evaluation Consultation

• Clinical interview with parents, duration 60 mins
• Neuropsychological evaluation of patient on 1-2 separate days following the clinical interview, duration 6-8 hours
• Clinician’s scoring, interpretation, and explanation of evaluation findings
• Parents-only post-evaluation consultation session, duration one hour. The evaluation and consultation appointments are scheduled two weeks apart.
• Written evaluation with test scores, diagnoses, explanations, recommendations, and treatment options. You will receive the written comprehensive report approximately two weeks after your consultation appointment.
