Amy Usher, Ph.D.  is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist specializing in the evaluation of children with neurodevelopmental, medical, and neurological conditions. She obtained her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Loyola University Chicago in 2012. She completed an internship at Children’s Hospital Minnesota and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Loyola University Medical Center in the Chicagoland area. She has published and presented in the areas of ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disability, chronic illness, executive functioning, and risk and resilience in children.

Dr. Usher specializes in evaluating children whose medical or neurological conditions may impact brain development, such as head injury/concussion, prematurity/low birth weight, cancer treatment, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, stroke, chromosomal differences, sickle cell disease, spina bifida, and brain tumors. In addition, she has expertise in evaluating children with academic difficulties that may include questions of ADHD, learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, or intellectual disability.

Her comprehensive evaluation includes assessment of cognition (e.g., learning, memory, attention, executive functions, etc.) and emotional/behavioral functioning to identify a child’s strengths and needs and to guide academic and treatment planning. She joined Square One in 2018 and provides evaluations, consultations, and individual and group therapies.
